Highlights From our Schools & Agents Weekly Bulletin

Hi everyone! We hope your week has got off to a great start. We’re back again this Monday to share some top highlights from last week’s Schools & Agents bulletin. This time we discussed a subject on a lot of business’ agendas these days – sustainability.

Key sustainability tips for schools

In a recent live broadcast with our partner Jonathan Dykes from Green Standard Schools, we discussed how schools can adopt more eco-friendly practices. Here are some ideas we shared for international education establishments looking to go green.

Going paperless

Since we took over Schools & Agents, everything has become digitalised, including invoices, contracts and all of our accounting paperwork. Although it takes some getting used to at first, we’ve found it’s a very efficient system that enables us to locate documentation more easily, save on storage space, and ultimately reduce our carbon footprint.

Encouraging recycling and waste reduction

Another simple way of going green is setting up labelled recycling stations in your school. Not only will you be doing your bit for the environment, but spreading the message of sustainability to students. If you have the budget for it, you could also encourage reusable cups and bottles by offering branded sustainable merchandise. This works as a marketing tool while reducing waste.

Organising ethical initiatives

Lastly, why not find creative ways to reduce waste and support local communities? For instance, one of our member language schools started an initiative to donate leftover fruit from a local market to charities in the neighbourhood. Students who joined in learned a valuable lesson on reducing food waste and got to practise their language skills in a real-world situation.

We’d love to hear about your sustainability initiatives – just let us know your news and we’ll share it with our vast network. Remember, this will not only enhance your business’ reputation, but set an example for others in the industry.

That’s all for this week, but keep checking in for more key insights and updates to come!
